Tour Itinerary

We’ll start the tour with Banteay Srei, which is around 40km away from Siem Reap. It’s a unique temple insomuch that it was the only temple which wasn’t built by a king. It was built by 2 of the King’s counselors. It was also built from red sandstone and has many very intricate carvings which are still visible today. Known as the “Jewel of Khmer Art”, Banteay Srei is considered to be the birthplace of the great Khmer empire.

After Banteay Srei, we will go out to see Kbal Spean and the “Valley of a 1000 Lingas”. Here you can see lingam carvings. There are also other carvings dotted around the area which depict other famous Hindu gods including, Rama, Hanuman, Lakshmi, Brahma and Vishnu.

After lunch at a local restaurant we will then go to Chau Srey Vibol. This temple is one of the largest inside the Angkor Archaeologcal Park and it doesn’t attract too many tourists because of its remote location. This gives you a great chance to see one of the largest temples built during the Khmer Empire in relative peace.

We will then drive to Roluos which used to be the capital of the Khmer Empire. Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei are three of the oldest temples and were built before Angkor Wat.

You can also experience the stunning sunset on Kampong Phluk, one of three floating villages in Siem Reap.
